Nest: Colony

NEST: Colony is part of Iregular’s NEST series, a collection of sound-focused modular artworks that are adaptable to any context, space, and size specifications. This version consists of a nine-screen installation that plunges visitors into a vibrant sonic ecosystem of interconnected nests.

This project uses SONAR, our proprietary sound location technology that allows us to follow participants and expose every person in the very same room to a different sonic reality.
NEST: Colony is part of Iregular’s NEST series, a collection of sound-focused modular artworks that are adaptable to any context, space, and size specifications.
NEST: Colony draws inspiration from the harmonious formations perceived in nature and the instinctive defence mechanisms of insect colonies as humans approach their natural habitat. This version consists of a nine-screen installation that plunges visitors into a vibrant sonic ecosystem of interconnected nests, transforming a unilateral interaction into a full immersion at the heart of the colony.
The Sonar Technology
This project uses SONAR, our sound location technology. Combining a proprietary tracking system, directional ultrasonic speakers, robotic arms and very specific sound design, we can now create audio experiences that follow participants and expose every person in the very same room to a different sonic reality.
