NEST is our first sound-focused digital artwork using our proprietary sound location technology, redefining how we can experience interactive art.

This original piece gave rise to a modular series of audio-based interactive experiences that are adaptable to any context, space, and size specifications.

NEST is our first sound-focused digital artwork using our proprietary sound location technology. This original piece gave rise to a series of audio-based interactive experiences carrying the same name, that redefine how we can experience interactive art.

Adaptable to any context, space, and size specifications, this modular piece draws inspiration from the harmonious formations perceived in nature and the instinctive defence mechanisms of insect colonies as humans approach their natural habitat.

When entering the space, visitors are met with a dense and enveloping buzzing sound of flying insects. As they move around the nest, their human presence disrupts the natural calm: the insects react instantly, disturbed by the intrusion. Now it is the insects’ turn to unsettle the visitors, pushing them to step back and restore peace to the environment.

- THE SONAR TECHNOLOGY -

This project was the first to use SONAR, our sound location technology. Combining a proprietary tracking system, directional ultrasonic speakers, robotic arms and very specific sound design, we can now create audio experiences that follow participants and expose every person in the very same room to a different sonic reality.
