CUBE is a digital scenography in the form of a simple cubic geometric structure with moving lights and LED panels serving as a canvas for visual artists Heleen Blanken’s work.

Milo Van Buijtene, the director of Draaimolen festival (Tilburg, The Netherlands) sought out Iregular, and paired the studio with visual artist Heleen Blanken to create the scenography for the festival’s main stage.

Taking place deep in the woods and away from concrete walls and city life, Draaimolen provides a 24 hours techno music escape to a crowd of 8000 people.

CUBE is a simple cubic geometric structure with moving lights and LED panels serving as a canvas for Blanken’s work. The juxtaposition of Iregular’s minimalistic but bold geometry with Blanken’s nature-inspired organic style provided the perfect metaphor for the festival’s loud techno music in the middle of the forest.

Whereas the digital usually strips you away quite fast from nature and your environment, CUBE actually bridges the two worlds and provides the crowd with an all-rounded and hybrid immersive experience.
