AMPLITUDE distorts the real world using an acrylic reflective surface and a vibrating motor.

AMPLITUDE distorts the real world using an acrylic reflective surface and a vibrating motor.

Known for the use of digital technologies in its interactive installations, Iregular here explores analog processes to morph reality and modify the surroundings.
Keeping the audience at the center of the piece, AMPLITUDE appears from afar as a blurry extension of the perceived landscape. It almost feels like a digital out-of-focus filter liquifying the scenery. As people approach the piece, they understand that they are facing a blurry reflection of their surroundings, themselves included. The closer they get, the clearer the image becomes, and it is only then that they realize they are in front of an undulating mirror vibrating at a very high speed.

A progressive experience that works best in natural settings, AMPLITUDE peeks the curiosity of passers-by who will seek to make sense of the confusing visual effect they come across.
